This is the first month in a long time where I struggled to pick favourites. To be honest I've been snubbing my makeup for a bare face more often than not. I haven't bought any new products for a while and I even find myself feeling a little meh... about blogging over the past few weeks. I think I'm in the midst of a beauty funk. But I did manage to scrape the barrel and find a few products that have mildly pepped me up and made me think this beauty world isn't so bad after all.

Fake tanning and I have never seen eye to eye. I'm a sporadic user and amateur at best. The one aspect I've struggled with most is facial tanning. I'm not a fan of just using a darker foundation as it never looks quite right and reapplying tan to my face every night after cleansing is no fun either. I know a few brands do facial tanners, but only recently have I decided to take a leap of faith and buy one from The Body Shop.

You'd never guess it was summer here seen as it is so dark and difficult to take a bright picture right now. But alas, that is Ireland for you and what are you going to do? Regardless of the dull weather, I'm talking about summer bases. I love a light base. In reality, I wear them all year-round, but in summer I feel like it's when they flourish on my skin and look the best. Today, I have three bases to talk about and each one for me is a personal favourite for summertime.

I'm not really one for dupes. I find they never truly are dupes and I end up a little disappointed. But on the rare occasion I do find that perfect facsimile. A dupe that is worthy of the dupe title. And this is one of those times. The Maybelline ColorDrama Lipsticks really are the equal to the Nars Satin Lip Pencil and I'm very happy about that!

A few days ago Holly tagged me to do a post talking about the Soundtrack To My Life. I jumped at the opportunity with glee and over the last few days I haven't been able to think about anything else. For me, this tag has made me realise that the music I listened to 10 years ago as a teen in my boyfriend's poster covered room is still the same stuff that we listen to in our shared flat today. And although I do have a couple of newer songs, it's the music I found in my teens that is still the most significant to me.
