bourjois happy light foundation

Bourjois has added another foundation to its much beloved range, Happy Light. Offering light-weight, natural coverage, luminosity and a formula that will enhance your inner glow (whatever that means), I was an excited little lady when I laid my eyes on this.

Firstly, just to say, this has a scent that did not like. It wasn't a strong scent and I couldn't smell it on the skin but it was an unpleasant baby cream smell that was quiet unappealing. I have the shade 51, which was slightly too dark and pink toned for me but I made it work with some blending. The coverage is very sheer. I find calling this a foundation quiet a stretch, it is almost verging on tinted moisturiser territory, but on the skin it does look very natural and feels so light. Its definitively one you would only reach for on a good skin day.

I didn't find this to be the most luminous foundation either. I suspect that if used with Happy Light Luminous Primer you might get a more glowing finish but on its own, it was just more a brightening effect than a dewy glow. I did actually like the effect on my skin, just not what I was expecting.

With Boots offering €5 off, I purchased Happy Light for €11.99. Its a reasonable price on offer but will eventually be at the higher end of drugstore foundations, which I also think is quiet a turnoff. I think I will use this foundation from time to time perhaps but its not a essential for my make-up bag.
