the body shop cleansers

Cleansing balms and oils are hot property right now. Every company seems to be adding them to their line and The Body Shop are no exception. With the introduction of the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter and the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil, I excitedly tested them out to see if they can stand-up against such fierce competition.

The Body Shop to be honest isn't my first stop when I am looking for skincare but their Camomile range really called to me. With the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter priced at €14.95 and the Camomile Silky Oil priced at €17.50, I thought the price was really quite reasonable as my previous cleansing balm verged around the €30 mark for the single product.

The packaging for the oil is a plastic bottle, nothing too fancy but I do like the sturdy yet cute tin that the balm comes in. Both the oil and the balm have very pleasant yet faint scents that I really like. And of course they are fair trade, cruelty free and all those lovely things that The Body Shop stand for.

I incorporated them into my skincare routine by first using the oil to remove all my make-up first. Using a pump or two of the oil, I would gently massage it over my dry face and over my eyes. Then with a warm water soaked cloth I simply wiped it off. After this step, I would then take a bit of the balm, only a tiny amount is needed as it is a hard wax that turns into a buttery consistency, and rub that into my skin. Finally, removing the balm with a hot water soaked cloth also.

I was actually quite taken back by how much I like these two products. I mean really liked them. The oil removed all my make-up so effortlessly and adding the balm on top gave me a double cleanse leaving my skin feeling really clean. That clean feeling to me though, often means dry tightness but with these two products I felt no tightness. My skin felt so moisturised and nourished. I have never had such nice feel skin after just a cleanse.

Any cons? I don't think I can think of any. I really enjoy using these cleansers together. It was a pleasant surprise to have them work so well together and leave my skin feeling healthy and pure. Any other recommendations from The Body Shop?
