Review: Clinque Airbrush Concealer

Tuesday, 28 January 2014

I love a brightening concealer. However, sometimes when using a brightening concealer you have to compromise on coverage, I'm looking at you YSL! I have been recommended the Clinique Airbrush Concealer as one that both brightens and conceals and jumped at the chance to try it out.

Cliniques Airbrush Concealer came highly recommend to me. Clinique describe it as a light reflecting must-have, that hides shadows and also illuminates. I love light reflecting concealers but I have extremely bad under eye circles and need something that will cover dark purple shadows under my eyes. The concealer retails for €25, typical for a high end product of this type and a price I would gladly pay for a good concealer. The concealer has a brush top that you screw up to get the concealer out which is standard packaging for this type of product.

I must say I thought this concealer was actually rather lovely. It offers medium coverage that hid my under eye circles reasonably well. Not total coverage but it was natural and made my under eyes look brightened and was so easy to blend. It also look great over other concealers as I used my favourite Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector to cover my dark circles and the Airbrush to brighten.

Although nice, there were some negatives. I was matched with the shade Neutral Fair, which shocked me as it was the darkest colour that I could get. I am usually the palest so the colour range sadly is rather pathetic but good for the pale girls.

I really liked this concealer. Although I still needed to use a second concealer for coverage due to my rather bad dark circles, this does have pretty decent coverage for an illuminating concealer, so perfect for an average girl. I really enjoy using it but I;m curious does anyone know of any affordable dupes?
