Skincare Routine

Saturday, 25 January 2014

I'm always changing up my skincare routine. I'm not particularly faithful to many products but currently I am really happy with some of the products I have been using day to day. Here is a list of my daily skincare routine.

To start with, I have pretty normal skin verging on dry. I'm pretty lucky as I don't get many blemishes, apart from a few hormonal ones and my skin isn't sensitive. I do like to use products that are as natural as possible though as I think it is best to stay away from as many harsh chemicals as possible.

Starting with cleansers. The Body Shop Camomile Cleaning Butter and Silky Cleansing Oil are two products I have talked about numerous times. I have my full review here. I use the balm in the morning and at night I use a combination of the two to remove all of my make-up and get squeaky clean skin in the evening.

Recently I've gone a bit Liz Earle crazy as I discovered a stand in a near by store. I use the Liz Earle Instant Boost Tonic both morning and night as my toner. It smells lovely and fresh as it has aloe vera, cucumber and numerous other lovely things. This makes my skin look really fresh and bright without being too harsh and stripping.

I love serums. I use this Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum in the morning as it is quite light and can be used on sensitive skin. It offers an extra boost of moisture so my skin feels nourished all day.

My evening serum is a beauty blogger favourite and I, of course jumped on the band wagon. It is the Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron Serum. It is a hydraluronic acid that helps retain moisture in the skin. It is scentless and sinks into the skin fast but my skin feels so soft when I use this.

Daytime moisturiser is the Nuxe Creme Fraiche 24hr Moisture Emulsion. I actually bought this assuming it was a heavier night time cream but was surprised to find it was very light. I moved this as a daytime moisturiser instead as it is pretty perfect for under make-up as its non greasy and sinks in fast.

Night time moisturiser is the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser. This is a very heavy moisturiser and I am surprised that is for normal/combination skin as it is very greasy. Over night though it works well for me and it leaves my skin feeling hydrated.

Finally, eye cream. I used this Liz Earle Daily Eye Repair for both day and night as I find it very moisturising. It has SPF which is great for day time and also is light reflective so its perfect for brightening under the eyes.

So that is my daily skincare routine. Any opinions on these products or recommendations for other products I should try?
