Affordable Evening Make-Up Look

Thursday, 27 February 2014

I am a girl who loves using my luxury products for a night out. I think it just makes an evening out a little more special. However, I've never really attempted a full evening look with just drugstore products. So I've decided to give myself the challenge. Full evening make-up with 100 percent affordable products. Here is what I used.

In the evening, I need a base that will last a long time, won't flash back and makes my skin look flawless so I decided to go for this trio. Starting with the Bourjois Bronzing Primer used to shape my cheek bones and on my temples. It looks like a scary product but works so well at shaping the face. For foundation, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in the shade 51. It is actually one of my only foundations without SPF so I won't get dreaded flash back from flash photography and it is long lasting while giving a perfect semi-matte base. And finally for blemishes and under eye circles is Seventeen Phwoarr Paint in Fair. It has great coverage and is super cheap.

I decided to go for a champagne eye look so as a primer I'm turning to the No. 7 Stay Perfect Smoothing Eye Shadow and a very affordable palette, Wet N Wild Walking On Eggshells. I purchased this in New York for only a couple of dollars and I have recently heard the brand is now available in Ireland. The colours are lovely and this palette is very simple to use as it is three shades, brow bone, crease and eyelid. To line the eyes the Maybelline Master Drama Khol liner in brown and the mascara I can't stop talking about, Max Factor False Lash Effect Volume and Lenght finishes off the eye look.

Natural Collection have great blushers. This one is a beautiful coral colour that gives a perfect peachy glow to the cheeks. Also to add a nice glow the No. 7 Instant Radiance Highlighter which is a dupe for the Benefit Watts Up and is really quite a nice product.

Finally nude lips. For liner, the No.7 Nude lip pencil is one of my favourites and with the Rimmel's Lasting Finish in Nude Pink.

I find it quite hard not to reach for my more expensive products on a night out so doing this look was rather difficult. Could you do an evening make-up look with just drugstore? Let me know.
