Review: Seventeen Phwaorr Paint Vs. Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector

Sunday, 16 February 2014

The phrase "drugstore dupe" always fills me with glee. Getting a much beloved product for substantially less money is always a welcome surprise. So when I recently heard that Seventeen had released Phwoarr Paint, a concealer that rivaled the adored Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector, I rushed out wallet and Boots card in hand to see how comparable these two concealers really are.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector is a high end concealer and the price tag reflects this. At a rather steep €24, it leaves a pretty big dent in your pocket. Seventeen Phwoarr Paint is a fraction of the price at only €6.99, making it an attractive alternative. Both products also come in similar sleek black packaging. Both products have pretty much the exact same consistency as they are very heavy and creamy.

As for coverage, I always loved how the Bobbi Brown concealer was a salmon colour and covered dark circles. However, I always would have to add an additional concealer on top to stop it from being too pink on my skin. The Seventeen concealer is more yellow and also offers amazing coverage. In fact the coverage was superior to the Bobbi Brown and there is no need to add anything on top. I really loved how it covered my dark circles and also covers blemishes really amazingly too, something the Bobbi Brown concealer cannot do either. As both these concealers are so creamy, they did tend to look a little cakey. The Seventeen one after a few hours seemed to fair worse but overall they both looked pretty good on the skin.

So which one comes out on top? I have to give it to the Seventeen Phwoarr Paint. At a good price, pretty amazing coverage, its hard not to pick this one over the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer. Have you tried either of these? I'd love to hear your opinions.
