Valentines Day Plans

Thursday, 13 February 2014

I am not a romance kind of girl but every Valentines my bf and I usually put in quite the effort as it is also our anniversary. This year we have decided to say in, get some good take-away Thai food, watch When Harry Met Sally and drink far too much red wine. Just because I'm staying in doesn't mean I'll be in my usual tracksuit bottoms and over sized jumper though. I'm making myself look all fancy.

Make-up wise for Valentines I have decided to keep it very simple. I love the Dior BB Creme as it gives really nice, light coverage and with the No. 7 Highlighter my skin will look glowing. On valentines there is always the question of whether to wear red or pink. I recently read a blog post talking about Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in the shade Heartbreaker and it reminded me that it is one of my favourite pink shades so that is what I wear. Finally on my nails, L'Oreal Color Riche in Addictive Plum (Review Here). It is a very similar colour to the lipstick and I thought they would look really sweet together.

I love grey and pinks together so I'm wearing this grey, embellished Forever 21 top to contrast my pink lips and nails. It's comfy and not too dressy and when pair with a dark wash pair of skinny jeans and heeled boots, I think it works perfectly for an evening in.

Of course no romantic night in would be complete without a nice candle. I love Bath & Body Works candles although they are only available in the US. They last a long time and smell divine. This is the scent Homemade Cookie which is a lovely, sweet vanilla scent.

Obviously being a true wine connoisseur I went with a wine with the cutest name! I bought this red wine for Valentines evening called Longue-Dog. Hopefully it tastes as good as the name sounds!

There is valentine preparations done. Let me know what you're up to on Valentines. I'd love to know.
