The Nude Nail

Saturday, 8 March 2014

I am currently OBSESSED with nude nails. As a colour, I think they are effortlessly chic, goes with almost every look and can be worn all year round. In ode to my favourite nail colour of the moment, here is a round up of the nude polishes I have been using to feed my nude nail addiction.

Rimmel Salon Pro in Oh, Mr. Darcy

Starting with a polish I simply bought because of the name (Pride and Prejudice anyone?). This Rimmel offering is a lovely grey nude that looks really understated on the nail. I love the Rimmel wide brushes that easily cover the nail in one sweep and the formula lasts really well. It's affordable at only €5.95 but it does need a few coats as the colour is quite sheer. Overall though, it's a beaut!

Models Own Hyper Gel in Naked Glow

Gel nail polishes are the bomb. I think they last longer on the nail, dry super fast and give amazing shine and this Models Own offering is perfection. At €7.65, the colour Naked Glow is quite a milky nude and looks so nice on the nails. Although the brush isn't my favourite, the formula and colour are pretty amazing.

Revlon Nail Enamel in Grey Suade

Revlon Grey Suade is a little bit different  from the other nudes. It has a pink undertone and has a very slight, bare noticeable shimmer that looks so pretty on the nails. At €9.15, this is a great polish that lasts a good few days on my nails. The colour is very sophisticated and would suit a number of skin tones.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Lychee

There was a lot of love for these when they first arrived especially for this colour Lychee. These gel polishes are similar to the Models Own but in my opinion not as good but still great quality for the very inexpensive price.

I'd love to know any opinions on the nude nail trend or do you have any nude polishes to suggest I should try? Please let me know.
