An Ode Revlon Colour Stay

Thursday, 24 April 2014

Sometimes, I get caught up in reviewing the new, exciting launches and forget about the old reliable products that I use on a day to day basis. One such product that seems to stick with me through thick and thin is Revlon Colorstay Foundation so I've decided to declare my love and talk about why this old staple is one of the foundation greats.

I think I first bought Revlon Colorstay about 3 years ago and since then I've repurchases it numerous times and it has never let me down. Now it is a pricey "drugstore" foundation as a bottle will set you back €17 and annoyingly it doesn't have a pump but this foundation has so many positives that  can over look these little irks.

First, Revlon Colorstay is perhaps the most accommodating foundation out there for skin types and tones. Revlon provide two separate formulas, one for dry/normal skin and another for oily/combination skin types. Personally, use the dry/normal version and it works so well on my skin.

They also have a an amazingly wide range of shades which is a saviour for a super pale girl like myself. In fact, I usually find that even the lightest shade of most high street foundations are too dark for my skin but with Revlon Colorstay I can easily find a light shade to match my skin tone.

As for the formula, it has medium to full coverage that looks natural when applied and never goes patchy or leaves my skin dry. Revlon Colorstay is the foundation I turn to when I know I am going to have a long day at work or an important meeting as I can trust that it will hold strong all day.

Revlon Colorstay, although may not be my favourite foundation or the most glamorous, I know I am going to continuously repurchase it. It's reliable, not too expensive and I know it will do it's job.
