Best Beauty Buys Under 10

Sunday, 13 April 2014

I love my high-end beauty bits but finding a drugstore gem can be a real treat. After years of swatching, testing and experimenting, I've build up a few affordable bits and bobs that I can happily recommend and even better they are all under €10!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

A recent release and acquisition by myself but this product has impressed me. A couple of drugstore brands have tried (and in my opinion failed) to deliver a Bioderma dupe but this one is perfect. It removes my make-up with ease, leaves no oily residue, and is fast and effective. I can see this being a repeat purchase for many years.

Dove Express Treatment

I love a good conditioner and this Dove Express Treatment Conditioner is one of the best. Leave this in for only one minute and it works its magic as my hair feels smooth and silky after every use and it's less than €5.

Seventeen Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter

This Seventeen highlighter shocked me with how amazing it was. I mix it my foundations, use as a cheek highligher and generally just to brighten my face. It's beautifully subtle and is only €7.99 making it well worth the money.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

The Rimmel Wake-Me Up Concealer is perhaps my all time favourite affordable concealer. The formula is creamy, works perfect under the eyes to cover dark circles and brightens amazingly. It's easy to apply with the doe foot applicator and I use it everyday for as a quick, easy, brightening concealer.

Wet N' Wild Walking on Eggshells Eyeshadow Palette

Wet N' Wild Eyeshadow palettes were once the inexpensive, cult product that was only available in the U.S. but now the brand has made it's way over here and I can see why so many people covet this drugstore product. The eyeshadows, although quite glittery, are really pigmented and are perfect for a shimmery eye look.

Bourjois Cream Blush in 04

A few brands have rather good cream blushes but my pick of the lot is Bourjois' offering. They are a cream to powder formula that give the perfect pop of colour to the cheeks. Although, there is a limited shade range, this rosy pink colour is a beaut.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Nude Pink

Rimmel have some of the best high street lipsticks and perhaps my used shade from their range is Nude Pink. It is a pink/peach hue that is the perfect nude shade for me. The formula is not drying at all and the subtle shimmer is great for both day and night.

Maybelline Master Drama Khol Liner in Dark Brown

A good brown eyeliner that stays put is a must in any decent make-up collection and my brand of choice is Maybelline. Their Master Drama Khol Eyeliner in Brown is a perfect warm brown that doesn't budge when applied and can also be smudged out for a great smokey eye look.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Shadow Paint in Rich Russet

The final product is once again from Rimmel. The Scandaleyes Shadow Paint in Rich Russet is perhaps one of their most impressive products from their offering. This cream shadow can be applied for a simple wash of colour or build up for a strong, gorgeous, shimmery brown eye look. It says put all day and is very reasonably priced at only €6.45.

I love finding affordable items to add to my make-up collection. Do you agree with my recommendations? Or have any further suggestions? Please let me know.
