Birthday Make-Up

Tuesday, 27 May 2014

So it was my birthday at the weekend. Woo!! Happy Birthday to me! Being a true make-up lover, the previous week I had been planning what products I would be using for going out to dinner and a few drinks. I want something with staying power, photographs nicely and is a little special for my birthday.

Foundation is one of my favourite affordable ones. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in the shade 51 is perfect for an evening out. it has no SPF so no flashback, it has great coverage, lasts all night and looks lovely and natural on the skin. I also used a mix of my Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector and and the creamy Concealer to get rid of those pesky dark circles and also conceal any annoying blemishes.

For eyes, I wanted them to look subtle as I am going for a bold lip. I used the L'Oreal ColorRiche Eye Primer first, a product I am just testing out and am not sure of yet.  And for the subtle look I always turn to my Stila In the Know palette. It has a selection of completely matte colours. I personally went for the pale cream colour called wind all over the lid, a mid toned brown called rain in my crease and a dark brown called earth smudged out my lash line for a subtle look. Added to this is lashings of mascara provided by the Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara.

For the cheeks I picked three of my favourite products. The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 01 is my all time favourite bronzer. The Tarte amazonian Clay 12 hour Blush in Blissful which is such a lovely pink shade that lasts on the cheeks for hours. Finally, a bit of glow provided by No.7's Instant Radiance Highlighter.

For the lips is a product I cannot shut up about. The Bourjois Edition Velvet in the shade Personne en Rouge is a gorgeous liquid lipstick that sets matte and says all evening. I particularly love how it doesn't dry my lips out and the shade is perfection.

So that was my planned birthday make-up. I had a lovely evening and got lots of compliments about the lipstick!
