No. 7 BB Lips

Thursday, 29 May 2014

I know what you are thinking when you look at this No.7 BB Lips, it looks like those Clarins lip perfectors! Well, that is exactly what I thought too and considering the hype around those if there is an affordable dupe, I want it! However, although the packaging is very similar how comparable are these two products really?

Now these do look significantly similar to the Clarins lip products with a few minor differences. For one the applicator on the No. 7 offering is just simple plastic tube compared to the Clarins one which has a sponge applicator (something I have never been that fond of. Pricing wise the No. 7 is cheaper, being €11.75 compared to the Clarins at €18. Not a significant pricing difference but remember No. 7 have those lovely vouchers and also are available in the 3 for 2 in Boots so its possible to get a nice deal. The shade range is quite similar also with some lovely pinks, nudes and corals. I personally went for the shade coral blush.

But enough about the aesthetics, how do these two actually compare?  Well pretty close really. The formula for the No. 7 is light, has a understated shine and adds a subtle pop of colour to the lips. It's also not too horribly sticky so when the wind blows there won't be much panic about your hair getting stuck to your lips.

The No. 7 BB Lips is definitely a facsimile for the Clarins glosses. The formula feels the same and both look lovely on the lips. No. 7 is perhaps less moistusing than the Clarins but for someone looking for a more affordable alternative, this is a great option.

Sidenote: Has anyone notice No. 7 have been offering a lot of dupes recently? The Instant Radiance Highlighter, No.7 Instant Illusions Rapid Radiance Balm and now the BB Lips... Interesting.
