The Minimal Daily Make-Up

Thursday, 19 June 2014

It's been humid and balmy recently and the weather is certainly effecting my choice in make-up. In fact, I have been shunning bases and going for a subtle make-up look that consist of only a few products consisting of a few dollops of concealer, a swipe of mascara and a little bronzer for good measure.

Not wearing a base means I have to use a few extra concealing products to perfect my skin. Under the eyes I slather on two concealers. First up is the Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector that is my saviour when it comes to dark circles under my eyes as the peachy tone really helps to cover them up. On top of this for some extra coverage and to brighten I use perhaps my favourite affordable concealer Rimmel Wake Me Up. This stuff is pretty awesome. It just covers so well and gives my eyes just an amazing lift.

For blemishes (thankfully I only have one on my chin right now) I use the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer. I find this concealer has great coverage and stays put for a long while. My only issue is that it can be a little cakey so I do use it sparingly.

For my brows I have been adoring the Revlon Brow Fantasy. This double ended pencil and gel beaut is super easy and fast to use. The colour matches my dark hair really well and it's just pretty great for a high-street brow product.

Perhaps the most minimal part of my make-up routine is my eyes. I simply use mascara and nothing else. The Lancome Hypnose Drama is a great mascara for adding length. I just throw on a couple of coats and my minimal eye look is done.

Finally, cheeks and lips. The ubiquitous The Body Shop Honey Bronzer is a staple for me no matter the make-up look or occasion. I love that this bronzer comes in so many shades and for a pale girl like me I find it simply the best bronzer out there.  Moving on to blush, the Bourjois Cream Blush in Rose Tender is really pigmented, gives a dewy glow and stays put all day making it an amazing summer product.

For my lips I am using one of my recent favourite finds. Mac Patisserie is such a lovely nude. This peachy pink is effortlessly lovely. I am currently obsessed with it and even wrote a whole review declaring my love- HERE.
