What I've Been Loving: August Edition

Tuesday, 2 September 2014

august monthly favourites
It's been a really busy month for me. I took 2 weeks off blogging to finish my masters dissertation and I am officially done. Yayyy!!! I must admit I have been slacking on the make-up front this month as I just haven't been thinking about anything beauty wise. However, I've managed to wrangle a few items to form some sort of coherent list for what I enjoyed in August.

SLEEK BROW PENCIL

I rejoiced when I saw Sleek in my local Boots and I picked up a few pieces from their range. I expected to like the eye shadows and blushes (which I did) but it was a different product that shocked me in how great it was. Their brow pencil was bought on a whim and I have to say I'm so impressed. The colour is great, the waxy texture makes it easy and natural to apply, its got a spooly brush thing at the end to tame the brows and its a bargain at only €6.99! What's not to love?

ZOEVA VEGAN PRIME BRUSH SET

I, like every other beauty blogger, was drawn in by the Zoeva rave reviews. I finally got my hands on the Vegan Prime Set and I adore it. Such good quality for a rather affordable price. My favorite brush is the 104 Buffer but all of them are amazing quality and you can check out my full review of the set (HERE) to learn more about what I thought. However, in short they are perfection.

TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY 12HR BLUSH IN BLISSFUL

This warm, shimmery peach blush is one that I couldn't live without. I bought it when I was in the states last year and I'm still obsessed. The colour is just a lovely, understated peach and it lasts all day on my checks. They are on the more expensive side and the only way to get them is to ship from the US but they are so worth it if you are looking for something high-end and long lasting.

MAYBELLINE SUPER STAY GEL NAIL MEGAWATT IN 190 PINK VOLT

I'm usually a red nails and lips kinds gal but this bright pink Maybelline nail polish has been tugging at my heard strings. The colour is super vibrant and just pops on the nails and the gel formula is actually very good as it lasts a few days without the inevitable chip. The price is pretty decent too making it a lovely little buy.

Has anyone tried any of these products? Or got some recommendations as to what I should be looking out for? Let me know!
