Christmas Make-Up Musts

Tuesday, 23 December 2014

I'm heading home for Christmas and that means I have to decide what make-up to bring. It's a bit of a Sophie's choice situation as I have to be strict and only bring home the absolute essentials. I do know a few things that are for sure making it into my make-up bag and what I will want to wear on the actual day.

What would a Christmas make-up look be without the ubiquitous red lippy? I have a lot of red lipsticks but I only seem to gravitate towards one. It's the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Personne en Rouge. I love this stuff! Dare I even say it's my favourite lip product ever...

It's matte, weightless, long lasting and just a dream to wear especially on dry, chapped winter lips. The red is vibrant, bright and perfect for the season. I will most likely bring home my Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Glastonberry but for actual Christmas day, Bourjois has my heart.

As a recent convert to false lashes I'm really excited to incorporate them into a christmasy make-up look. I will of course be using the Tanya Burr Individual Lashes that are so lovely to wear and relatively easy to apply. I'll pop 3 or 4 of these babies on each eye and embrace the fluttery lash look for the upcoming parties.

You have to bust out the glittery at Christmas and I intend to use much too much of it all over my eyes. I've chosen to use one of my favourite palettes The Balm Nude-Tude as it has an amazing selection of highly pigmented sparkly shades and a few matte ones too. I'll probably use the shade "Stand-offish" as a perfect glittery shade all over the eyes to bring the perfect glisten to the lids. 7

If I want to have super glowy skin I turn to the No. 7 Instant Radiance Highlighter. I love this stuff. The pinky, champagne tone is beautiful and subtle and the cream forumla is easy to blend. On top of the cheeks and in the cupids bow, this stuff will look lovely.

Forget red nails this year. I'm doing something a little different. I am really liking nude nails recently but they are a little plain. To add a little Christmas cheer I will be using this glitter top coat L'Oreal called "Sequin Explosion". It's glittery, multi-coloured and perfect for a good Christmas party!
