What I've Been Loving - April Edition

april favourites
Monthly favourites time! And I can genuinely say that I have found some products over the past month or so that I really rate. Which is surprising because usually I'm scraping the barrel for new favourite products. Most of them, I've reviewed over the past month but I'll give you a quick rundown of why I think these are special gems.

My absolute favourite finds are two lipsticks that couldn't be more on opposite ends of the makeup spectrum. The first is the ubiquitous Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Dragon Girl. Shockingly, I had never tried these before even though they are always raved about. But now that I have I am smitten too. Dragon Girl is a bright, pinkish red and is a great one for Spring/Summer. It's vibrant and not too dark. I find it's also great for daytime as I slap it on paired with some ripped Topshop Joni's and a grey tee. Gorgeous!

The polar opposite is this nude from Burberry. I was so excited when I saw that Boots Online had started stocking their products and I decided to get this lipstick from the Lip Cover range in the shade English Rose. And it's really lovely. It's really creamy, comfortable to wear and just my kind of everyday nude. Once again gorgeous!

I said that my favourite find were the lipsticks but this concealer is definitely a close second. It's the Amazing Cosmetics Concealer. This stuff really packs a concealing punch. It's high coverage yet super creamy and doesn't look heavy. You only need a small drop and you're done. If you have dark circles, I strongly urge you to check this out. Final makeup product of choice is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I'm fickle when it comes to mascara. Nothing seems to do everything I want but this one is pretty close. It curls, adds some volume and is really affordable. What more could I ask for?

We had a week of unseasonal warmth in Dublin. It's well and truly over now as it's currently raining as I write this but during it I had to crack out my old favourite the Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid. This is a perfect under your makeup sunscreen as it's got the coverage (it's SPF50+) and it's very light weight and soaks in fast. I feel safe wearing it as I know it won't mess up my makeup while also being protected.

Finally, is something totally unrelated to beauty - my copper plate. I've gotten so many comments complimenting this and I am obsessed with it too. I got it in a boutique store in Dublin and I just love how it looks on my makeup table. Love it!

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know what you've been liking this month.
