Bourjois 123 Perfect Colour Correcting Cream
I needed to find a dupe. Urgently! My beloved Dior Nude BB Crème is down to the last few drops and although I’d love another tube, it’s hella expensive. I read a while ago that the Bourjois 123 Perfect Colour Correcting Cream was quite similar to the Dior offering. So over the past month I’ve been testing it out to see how these two compare.

I’m going to skip the suspense and straight-up say – these are not dupes. Of course, they have similarities as they are both light bases but they are different. However different doesn’t mean bad. I actually really like the Bourjois base too. Like the Dior, it’s got really great coverage but still is light and enjoyable to wear. Texture wise is where they have the most difference. The Dior one is much thicker and almost mousse-like in texture that sheers out when applied onto the skin. Whereas the Bourjois is very fluid like and more of a traditional foundation. It also feels a little heavier on the skin.

What these two have most in common is frankly the crappy shade range. They pander to such a small demographic and ignore everyone else. The Bourjois is slightly better as the lightest of the four shades, Ivory, does (almost) match my very pale skin. But even so, why are brands so bad at including more shades?!

I have to admit that even though I like the Bourjois base, the Dior Nude BB Crème still has my heart. After hours of wear, the Bourjois starts to feel a little uncomfortable and dry on my skin and I have never felt that way with the Dior. It’s just that little bit nicer. I’ll still reach for the Bourjois and will happily wear it day to day. But it hasn’t curbed my desire to buy the Dior again. It’s nice, just not nice enough.

Have you tried either of these? What's your favourite light base?
