The Best of High-End Brands Tag

Monday, 3 August 2015

I love high-end make up. I love perusing beauty halls. I love filling my basket on Net-a-Porter with no intention of actually buying it. I love it all! And when I got tagged by Rachael I was so excited to start picking out my favourites. If you aren't aware, this tag basically asks you to pick your most beloved products from a selection of high-end brands and write a little rave about them. The original tag had a list of brands that you had to choose from, but I decided to take a leaf out of Rachael's book and just pick products from high-end brands that I actually use, love and have multiple products from. So let's jump in and get spendy!

Burberry Lip Cover in English Rose
I love myself a luxury lipstick and this one from Burberry is the first of many on my list. This shade is English Rose from their Lip Cover range and it's my favourite nude ever. To me, Burberry does luxury right. The packaging is stunning, the bullet is gorgeously embossed with the check and the formula is so creamy and just the right consistency. What really wins me over is the colour of this lipstick. It's the best nude I've found for my skin tone and if I had to get rid of all of my lipsticks except one, you bet this would be the one I hold on to.

Bottom-Top: Illamasqua Hollow, Burberry English Rose, Charlotte Tilbury Glastonberry, Nars Dragon Girl, Nars Yu

Dior Nude BB Creme
I talked about this Dior base the other day in my Summertime Bases post so I won't go on too much about it here, but this stuff is the best! Personally I think it verges more on the side of a foundation than a bb cream/tinted moisturiser as it provides such great coverage. It's still lightweight though and feels so lovely. I also love the packaging as its really nice and travel-friendly.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Glastonberry
I'm a little embarrassed about how little I've tried from Charlotte Tilbury. I did try her Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette and didn't really love it. I've also used some of her eyeshadows and loved them. For me, though I love this lipstick. It's the Matte Revolution Lipstick in Glastonberry. This is like serious vamp in a tube and it's da bomb. The formula is the most fabulously amazing you'll ever find. It's strangely luminous yet matte at the same time and it smells so good! This shade isn't the most wearable, but I love it and I want to buy every shade in the range because they are top notch.

Illasmasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow
Are Illmasaqua considered high-end? I'm saying yes because this was expensive! Illasmasqua to me are such an underrated brand. I've tried lots of their products if I had to choose I think their Cream Pigment in Hollow ranks at the top. I'm not going to show you mine because I had an unfortunate incident with it melting and to be honest, it's not the most attractive thing in the world. But heck, this is the perfect contour for a pale girl. Creamy, easy to blend, subtle - it's a product I'd recommend that everyone with pale skin gets. It's that good.

Nars Lip Pencils
If you read my blog frequently you'll know that I love myself some Nars' Lip Pencils. I'm not someone who is super into Nars. I have a couple of blushes, they're nice. The creamy concealer just wasn't enough for me. But these lip pencils made me realise that Nars really have some "wow" products. They are comfortable. creamy, easy to apply and look kick- ass on the lips. Definitely the best of high-end in my opinion.
