September Favourites

I am truly scratching my head and struggling to put together monthly favourites for September. In case you haven't noticed, I was a little quiet on the blogging front for the last few weeks. I have been making some big changes in regards to how I buy and use makeup so I haven't really been trying anything exciting or finding any gems. But I didn't like missing a month so here are my slightly late and minimal September favourites.

My only exciting recent purchase has been The Balm Meet Matte Hughes Liquid Lipsticks. I wrote about them a couple of weeks ago and I really think they are a special product. They are gorgeously matte, really comfortable and the shade range is amazing. Sadly, I haven't really had much of an opportunity to parade them around yet as I've been a bit of a hermit lately. But I find I'm drawn to them when I'm just messing around with my makeup in the mirror on lazy Sundays. I even wear them when I'm lounging around. I think that means they are a winner, right?

On to the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful. I bought this a couple of years ago and loved it. I think I used it every day for 3 months straight but then forgot about it. I decided to use it in a couple of blog pictures recently and seeing it again jogged my memory of how pretty it really is. It may sound strange, but the reason I like this is because it's rather inoffensive. The colour is soft and not that eye catching and that makes it perfect for pairing with any makeup look. It adds a lovely pigment to the cheeks and doesn't fight for attention with a dark lip or heavy eye. It's a safe, pretty bet.

Next is Illamasqua Gleam in Aurora. In case you couldn't tell by the huge dent in the middle of this, this highlighter is one of my all time favourites. It's another product I used to death when I first got it and then forgot about. It's back in the regular rotation now though, and I'm so happy about that. The colour is that perfect champagne gold. It's not too icy, yet it's not too warm either. And the sheen off this is amazing. But what else do you expect from Illamasqua?

Oh! And my final favourite is one I forgot to photograph (I'm really not with it today guys). It's the Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist. I may have talked about this in last months favourites, but I think it's worth another mention. This has made me a bit of a fixing spray addict. Whenever I can get a spray in, you can see me misting myself with this. It's refreshing, adds a little dewiness and helps rejuvenate your makeup. I can't get enough.
