Review of the Pixi Skintreats Nourishing Cleansing Balm and Beauty Sleep Cream

Exciting news! There is a new Pixi stand in Marks & Spencer (the one on Grafton Street for you Irish peeps)! When I saw it I may have screamed with glee and startled a few people around me, but I don't care. Pixi is one of my favourite brands, and in the past it been quite hard to get around these parts. And now that there is a stand just a few streets over from where I work, it's a beautiful thing.

For those of you wondering, they have both skincare and makeup available. Unfortunately, the makeup stand was ransacked when I saw it and it was slim pickings so I wasn't able to get any of the makeup I wanted. But the skincare stand was fully stocked and displayed all of Pixi's amazing skincare products in all their glory. I was reserved and only picked up two products (I will be back, though, don't you worry). And although I've only had them for a few days, I thought I'd give you guys my initial impression.

My first buy was the Nourishing Cleansing Balm. I was really excited to try this. I am a cleansing balm lover and I was really hoping that this would be something I'd get on with. Now remember this is very much a first reaction, but so far I really like it. It's a little different from other balms I've used as it's much thicker. Once applied to the face, it immediately turns to an oil, but a very heavy oil. Because of this it feels really luxurious and silky on the skin. And it removes makeup with so much ease.

Due to it being such a heavy balm, it's not really a slap it on and go kind of product. You need a face cloth to remove as it's so thick and it's a bit more time consuming than using a regular cleanser. I don't mind that, though. In fact, this is the perfect balm to use for a facial massage on a night that you are happy to take your time. Overall, I think this is a beautiful cleanser and I'm excited to keep using it.

Review of the Pixi Skintreats Nourishing Cleansing Balm and Beauty Sleep Cream

My second purchase is one that I saw quite a few bloggers talk about and love. It's the Beauty Sleep Cream and it aims to nourish and hydrate while you sleep. I am a big fan of products like this. Anything that can work magic on my skin while I'm asleep is a real draw for me and I have high hopes for this one.

As I said I've only had this for a few days so I can't really say too much about it, but so far it seems like a typical moisturiser to me. It is nourishing, but also not very heavy on the skin. One surprising thing of note is that Pixi says it contains "oils of lavender, lemon & bergamot". As far as I know lavender oil can be a skin irritant and also hasn't any real skincare properties so I'm not sure about that, but I'll keep you guys posted.

Oh and, of course, that is just the beginning of my Pixi hauling. I am definitely going to be buying lots more stuff, both makeup and skincare. So if you have any suggestions for what I should buy, please let me know!
