November Favourites

Favourites posts for me right now are a little difficult. I technically have lots of favourites, but seen as how a many of them aren't cruelty-free (I'm still using up a lot of my old, non-cruelty-free makeup), I don't really want to talk about them. So right now, I don't have an awful lot to chat about, but I'm giving it a try anyway and I hope you enjoy.

If you caught last week's posts, you'll know that Pixi is now in M&S. I managed to pick up a couple of things with my favourite being the Skintreats Nourishing Cleansing Balm. I don't think this is the best cleansing balm I've ever used, but it lovely none the less. It's a really heavy duty cleanser that is very luxurious and rich. It's definitely not one I use every day, but for a more hardcore cleanse, it's really lovely.

Another find this month is the Catrice Glam & Doll Waterproof Mascara. This is such an inexpensive mascara, but it does a great job. I have short, stubby lashes and this one is perfect for me. It's lengthening and separating and definitely makes my lashes look a lot more fluttery. If volume is your thing, this one probably isn't for you, but for length, it's a good'un.

I wrote a post about my favourite beauty tools recently and it made me realise how much I treasure my Kevin Aucoin Lash Curlers. They are a staple in my everyday makeup routine and I honestly couldn't be without them. They are easy to use, never pinch or irritate my eyes and they curl my lashes like a dream.

November Favourites

NYX's Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Thalia was given to me months ago, but I never bothered to try it. I took a look at it and thought it wasn't for me. But the other day I found it and decided to just give it a swatch and see how it looks and I actually really like it. The colour is that oh-so of the moment brownish-pink nude that I'm not great at pulling off. I apply it and dab it in to give a subtle, but gorgeous nude lip that works much better for me. The formula is really creamy too. Perfect for an easy winter's day look.

Lastly is Soap & Glory's Sunshield Superfluid. I am usually a bit lapsed when it comes to using SPF, but for the past two weeks I've really tried hard to use it every day. It's such an important step and using this makes it a bit easier to remember. It's a very light liquid that soaks into the skin straight away, which is great as I can apply makeup right on top. And it's SPF 50 so I know I'm getting top notch protection.
