January Favourites

This month's favourites are a bit of a hodgepodge of old and new. Some are cruelty-free and some aren't (sorry about that), but all of them are products I've loved, used and relied on throughout the month of January. So sit back, grab a cup of coffee and let's take a look at what I have been slapping on my face over the last 30 days.

First, let's get into lip products and I have two beauts to chat about. The first is one of my favourite lipsticks of all time - Nars Yu. I'm sure you've heard me rattle on about this before, but this pencil is the stuff that dreams are made of. Creamy, not drying, super pigmented. I can't get enough.

The second lipstick is MAC Patisserie. I bought this a long time ago and loved it, but I lost it. Eight or nine months had gone by since I last saw it and I was sure it had gone to makeup heaven. However, my boyfriend and I were doing a flat cleanup and decided to hoover under our bed. We lifted up our bed and a bright, ethereal light shined in my face, I heard the angels singing and it was there, my MAC Patisserie. Since that moment I haven't stopped wearing it. I'm so happy for us to be reunited. (P.S. Please ignore the fact that I hadn't vacuumed under my bed for so long).

Next up is an Elf blush. I actually have about 4 or 5 Elf blushes that I realised I never wore. I decided to actively try and incorporate them into my daily makeup rotation so they didn't go to waste. And after a few weeks of use, I've fallen head over heels for one shade in particular - Peachy Keen. It's a barely there colour that adds a perfect glow. I'm really happy to have rediscovered it.

Finally is my absolute favourite of the month and one that I will definitely be doing a full blog post of very soon. It's my new Illamasqua brushes. I had wanted the Essential Brush Set for so long but was always a little hesitant because they are a little pricey. One day I just said screw it, bought them and haven't regretted the decision since. They are so soft, so lovely to use and such high quality. I'm so impressed.
